Understanding your vehicle's Dual Clutch transmission oil and filter and the importance of its maintenance
A dual clutch transmission uses two separate internal clutches for odd and even gears. Its transmission oil lubricates the gearing components within the transmission, enables gear changes through hydraulic pressure, and dissipates heat. A filter removes debris from the oil to prevent them from circulating in the transmission. Over time, the filter may become clogged and heat and contaminants can affect the transmission oil's ability to perform its functions properly. It is recommended to inspect the transmission for any leaks, check the oil level regularly and change the oil and filter at the specified intervals.
